The Art
Innerdance is not a dance as we know it in the traditional sense. It is an active meditation and sound journey that often functions as a fast track to healing. By bringing your brain waves to different frequencies and activating your peripheral nervous system, Innerdance becomes sound medicine, enabling release of that which does not serve us, reprogramming limiting beliefs and tapping into expanded states of consciousness.
The experience is often deeply spiritual with strong emotional releases, re-visiting and re-wiring of traumas, time travels, spontaneous body movements and non dual states may occur.

The aim of the soundscape is to reunite the left and right brain hemispheres, initiating a blended state of awareness. Facilitators create unique soundscapes, inspired by the 12-stage process, similar to a sonic hero’s journey


What happens in a session?
An Innerdance journey starts with a grounding exercise such as yoga nidra to bring you from your thinking mind into the body. After this you are invited to lie down on your yoga mat, eyes closed, and do absolutely nothing but stay curious about what might arise. A soundscape playlist will begin to carry you through waves of your consciousness. With your permission, gentle touch along charkas, meridian lines and other points your facilitator feels intuitively guided towards may be pressed or stimulated to allow energy to flow freely. After the session you are invited, but not obligated, to share your experience with the group.
Is Innerdance for me?
You do not need any previous knowledge whatsoever to attend a group. However, you should feel a calling to journey deep within. As this process requires a certain level of emotional maturity, you must be willing and ready to take ownership of whatever emotions may arise before attending a class.
Innerdance is not recommended for people with nervous system disorders (epilepsy etc), mental illness such as panic attacks/psychosis/mania, cardiovascular diseases, pregnancy from third trimester, during drug abuse or while on heavy medication.


The science
Scientifically, Innerdance operates by orchestrating a playlist meticulously designed to harmonize the body’s electromagnetic fields, stimulating brainwave patterns with the aim of transcending linear thought processes and unlocking untapped potential. This stimulation encourages a holistic reconfiguration of the autonomic nervous system, fostering a return to a state of unity akin to the interconnectedness experienced in infancy. Throughout the process, intuitive touch serves as an additional catalyst, deepening and supporting the individual’s journey into self-discovery and healing.
The Innerdance journey is akin to an eight-hour REM sleep cycle, providing experiences akin to lucid dreaming, synesthesia, emotional release, and temporal distortion. Participants are urged to follow their instincts, whether through movement or vocalisation, as the body’s inherent wisdom leads the journey. Each session unfolds uniquely, some reaching deep trance-like states, while others remain in peaceful stillness, all are encouraged to embrace the transformative potential within Innerdance.
As the soundscape fades, the journey continues, often resulting in vivid dreams, emotional release, and newfound clarity, signaling the start of a profound transformative process.
